Obesity, widely known, is the number 5 global cause of death. Cases of obesity have also increase triplet since 1975. Many solutions are offered to solve this problem, technology becomes one of the ways out to be chosen. The problem of weight loss programs so far is about the need for obese patients to consult, but the constraints of a counsellor is cannot to always be ready 24 hours to support his clients and consult for a long period of time. Then, SlimMe is a conversational artificial intelligence based virtual assistant to aid weight loss. SlimMe’s solution offered is its ability to perform nutrition assessment, calorie tracker, small talk and empathic personalized motivational support.
This material was delivered by a public lecture speaker held on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019 at 12.30-15.00 at The Auditorium Moh Djazman, by Mrs. Annisa Ristya R, M.Sc from UGM. Attended by 86 students from various study years, this activity began with the presentation of materials from the speaker then followed by discussions and Q&A. The outcome of this activity, in hope, is that students are able to understand the role of technology in nutrition to help weight loss programs and can be used as a means of nutrition education.
