Curriculum is essentially a tool to achieve learning objectives so that students have competencies as expected.
Today the government has established the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI) which juxtaposes, equalizes and integrates the education sector with the training and work experience sectors in a work capability scheme which are adjusted to the structure in various employment sectors. Welcoming this policy, for 3 days (13, 18 and 23 May 2015), UMS Nutrition Science Study Program (PS) has organized a workshop on the preparation of KKNI-based curriculum documents, which are planned to be implemented simultaneously in all PS in UMS in the coming semester. The material in this workshop is the result of competency socialization and national workshop on the preparation of KKNI-based curriculum organized by the Indonesian Nutrition Higher Education Association (AIPGI) in Universitas Brawijaya, Malang, 24th-25th of April 2015.
A long discussion involving stakeholders, alumni, lecturers and PS managers, finally got the result which is a new curriculum based on KKNI and contained the description of PS Nutrition Science, UMS. This new curriculum, in God’s willing, will be implemented in the coming semester, as UMS policy that will apply KKNI-based curriculum in unison in all PS in UMS in the coming semester.
